After completing a PhD in Sports Science and beginning my career focused on the benefits of physical activity in the management of diabetic cardiomyopathy, I have redirected my research since 2016 toward the athlete’s heart.

My current research projects aim to better understand the impact of intensive and repeated sports practice on the cardiovascular system, through three main areas:

  1. The objective definition of the athlete’s heart
  2. Cardiac fatigue resulting from prolonged and repeated efforts (the concept of exercise-induced cardiac fatigue)
  3. The cardiac risk associated with long-term intensive training (athletic career)
