My PhD project focuses on understanding the mechanisms underlying the benefits of physical activity in the context of cancer. Physical activity is widely recognized as an effective non-pharmacological strategy to mitigate disease- and treatment-related side effects and to improve patient outcomes. However, the biological mechanisms explaining these benefits, particularly in relation to tumor metabolism, are still not fully elucidated.
This project aims to identify how different exercise intensities interact with tumor metabolic characteristics. By better understanding these mechanisms, this work seeks to contribute to the development of personalized physical activity interventions adapted to cancer patients’ metabolic profiles.
