Associate professor, I am an expert in tennis biomechanics about performance optimization and injury risk factors. Technical performance for tennis players means hitting the ball with speed, accuracy and/or spin to hinder the opponent’s return. Players must be able to reproduce their technical performance over a match, a tournament, a season or a career, while limiting the occurrence of injuries. Consequently, my goal is to answer the following questions: how biomechanics can help tennis players to increase performance and reduce injury risks? how does the player’s environment (surface, equipment, footwear, fatigue) influence stroke biomechanics, performance and injury risk?
